Oh! The Joys Of Parenthood

The baby talk- really easy to learn. You'll pick it up even if you don't want to.

Stay tuned for how NOT to change a diaper. Quick tip: wait till she's done.

Camden Chaise

There is so much we hope for her, and it's all in her name. We hope that she'll grow to be a woman who truly pursues and savors all that God has to offer: his grace, his discipline, his playground, his people, his love.

But how do I show her how to do that when I'm so afraid of embracing it myself?

How can I introduce her to a God that I haven't even begun to really know?

How do I protect her from making the same mistakes that I've made?

How do I teach her to expect what is unexpected from a God who is supposed to have revealed all that we need to know in "his word"?

How do I keep her from believing all the crap I've had to unlearn?

Parenthood sucks.

R.I.P.

My laptop from the stone ages is laid to rest. Welcome the new MacBook! (thanks, tony)

I need to make sure I take full advantage of this machine, so look forward to more postings. I hear this thing is supposed to be incredible. And now it's in the hands of the most computer illiterate person in the world! Anyone want to give free Mac tutorials?

You know what I miss about being pregnant?

Having an excuse to nap.

Strong nails.

Healthy hair.

Having an excuse to make your husband do the chores.

Having an excuse for being forgetful. I bet you all thought I was loopy because of the pregnancy... little do you know

and what I miss most...

Getting offers to cut in line at the women's restroom.

...maybe I should do it again :)

The Wait Is Over!

She finally did it; she slept a full 8 hours last night!

Palm Springs with Auntie Janice and Uncle Daniel... How else do you celebrate your one month birthday?

It's All In A Name...

Apparently, we weren't the first ones to think up the name Camden Chaise... and we thought we were being original.

Thanks, Ian, for pointing this out!

Keeping The Tradition Alive

When I was little, our family recieved a one-year pass to Sea World. My parents took full advantage of that and made it a point to visit Shamu at least once a month. We made so many memories that year, from feeding dolphins and sting ray to finding our way through mazes (which they apparently got rid of at Sea World). I guess a lot of things change in 20 years.

We're hoping to make those same memories with Camden, but do you think it's a little too early at 3 1/2 weeks?

Apparently so, since she slept through all the shows!

She didn't even want to pet the bat ray!!!

She did wake up for meal time though... well, sort of.

Nicole and Grant came along, just to try things on for size. Don't children look good on them?
